I have always loved birch trees! They are my favorite when I go backpacking because If I see a birch tree, I know I have an excellent fire starter! The bark peels make better fire starter than the stuff you buy at the store. I am always on a look out for birch trees when I am hiking. And of course, Autumn is a beautiful season to hike!
