This painting was inspired when we volunteered for the Goschenhoppen Folk Festival. During the festival, you see boys in overalls and girls in dresses and bonnets running around with corn and watermelon slices. Chickens running by sometimes…lol. It really is a cool event and it reminded of the simpler times of life on a farm. There is something about eating fresh farm produce, running around in the sun and getting dirty. I snapped this photo myself. He really was thrilled about having some corn on the cob….and boy was he dirty after volunteering!
